What to Bring to a Holiday Party

The holiday season is in full force and calendars are booking up with celebrations and parties galore! There is so much joy this time of year but sometimes figuring out what to bring to a holiday party can be a bit stressful. Is this too much, is this not enough, is this cheesy, what if everyone else brings the same thing - probably all questions you've asked yourself before a holiday party. No need to worry! I’ve narrowed it down to 4 main ideas of things you can bring to a holiday party so you don’t show up empty handed!

FLOWERS | a beautiful bouquet of fresh, seasonal flowers is a festive gift for any host/hostess. I think it is key to remember to have the bouquet in a vase as some people don’t have extra flower vases lying around. Succulents or a potted plant are also another idea.

BOTTLE OF WINE | this is a great idea to bring to a holiday party or dinner party as a gift for the host/hostess. Bonus points if you know their favorite style of wine! You can put the bottle of wine it a festive wine bag or cloth blog, or even tie some ribbon around the neck. I like to add an ornament or even a bottle stopper as a bonus festive small gift.

PARTY KIT | putting together little “party kits” are so fun IMO! The options of what you can do are endless and you can really personalize them, too. You could do a cookie making kit that includes a mason jar of ingredients, some cookie cutters, a mini spatula and festive sprinkles. If the host/hostess entertain a lot, you could do a kit with items for a make-your-own cheeseboard and include various cheeses, meats, honey, jam, crackers and a cheese knife. You could do a cocktail kit with a bottle of liquor, festive cocktail napkins and/or straws and a cocktail shaker. Another idea would be a cozy, winter kit that includes hot chocolate mix, marshmallows, candy canes and a pair of festive mugs. If the host/hostess has kids, you could make a family movie night kit that includes popcorn, a family-friendly holiday movie or two, and some small bags of candy. As you can see, the options are endless!

SWEET TREATS | baking is a classic during the holidays and who doesn’t love fresh baked cookies! Whip up a batch of your family’s favorite holiday cookie [my family love walnut cookies - it is my Grandma’s recipe] or keep it simple with sugar cookies or chocolate chip cookies.
