The Life She Wanders

Sharing Some Exciting News!

I’ve never created such a clickbait blog post title before in my life but I just couldn’t help myself with this one! And with that I’m going to drag the announcement out for a bit to build up even more suspense…sorry not sorry lol So let’s get to it!

These past few months have been such an incredibly journey from so many different levels and angles. I have grown in more ways than I can count - personally, professional and mentally. I have learned more about myself and what is important to me in all aspects of life, and how I can shape a future that is near and dear to my heart. Most of all, I’ve discovered just how strong I truly am. Like, WHOA! I channeled my energy and effort into things that brought me joy and that I saw as a future for me. I said no to things that didn’t feel 100% and yes, I might have second guessed myself saying no, but it kept me focused on my end goal.

As you’ve seen from my Instagram posts and stories over the last few months, I’ve been out in Denver exploring the area and seeing all that it has to offer. Needless to say, it is a dream location and if you’ve never been, book your flight now! It is one of the sunniest places in the country with over 300 days of sun a year [as I’m writing this it’s currently 71 degrees…in February!]. Yes, it does snow but most of the time on the news when you hear it’s snowing in Denver, it’s usually in the mountains and not the city of Denver. When it does snow, it usually melts within a couple of days which coming from growing up in Upstate New York where the snow lasts about 8 months a year, it’s quite the impressive change!

The views of the mountains to the west truly never get old and I still get that giddy, kid in a candy store feeling when I see them…especially when they are snow capped! It’s an extremely clean and manageable city, with so many different neighborhoods each with their own identity. The food scene in Denver is one of the best and I’m surprised I haven’t gained 2938472938 pounds with all the restaurants I’ve been trying!

These past few months have been a trial period and I’m happy to say that it has been more enjoyable and successful than I could have ever imagined. I still have so much exploring to do but I’ve fallen in love with this place. It’s the perfect mix of city and outdoorsy life, and the people here are some of the friendliest I have ever met!

So…have I dragged this on long enough? Are you growing more anxious by the paragraph wondering what the news is? Do you have any guesses on what the news is? Well, drumroll please……

I GOT A JOB AND AM MOVING TO DENVER!

That’s right y’all, Denver life is officially official now and I am beyond blessed and excited to announce that after 5 rounds of interviews, I was offered and have accepted a role as Social Media Manager with Sage Hospitality Group at their headquarters in Downtown Denver!

AHHHH!!! Okay y’all, I cannot even begin to explain how hard it has been not to scream this from the mountain tops [Denver…mountains…pun unintentionally intended lol]. It feels like a dream that I never want to wake up from. I am so incredibly blessed for this opportunity and thrilled to be joining such a talented team and organization.

Sage Hospitality Group is one of the nation’s leading hospitality management, development and investment companies. In this newly created role, I will be developing the unique social media strategy for Sage’s portfolio of 50+ hotels, generating processes and procedures from the ground up for social analytics reporting, acting as a resource for the hotel properties on new and emerging opportunities in the social landscape, and so much more.

As someone with a deep passion for creativity and numbers, this role could not be a more perfect fit. It has already been such a pleasure getting to meet with so many wonderful individuals, now colleagues, in the organization and I truly cannot wait to hit the ground running!

I’ll be going into a batch content craze this week to get ahead on things for TLSW so that I can still connect with y’all while giving 1000000000000% as I begin my new role. I think I see some resume tips, interview advice, workwear style and more in the career space coming to the blog soon so stay tuned!

Here’s to a fresh start and exciting new beginnings!
