Your Guide to a Cozy Holiday Tablescape
If you couldn’t tell from my holiday decor reveal post, I love the holidays! Which is why I was so excited to put together a minimalistic yet cozy + festival holiday tablescape this year. My apartment is open concept so making sure the tablescape tied in with the rest of the decor was key. I knew I wanted to incorporate greenery - eucalyptus specifically and keep everything else a neutral color palette, yet festive.
As you already know, my love for Target is more than most and I couldn’t stop myself when it came to this year’s Hearth & Hand with Magnolia collection - I wanted EVERYTHING!! All of the pieces were right in line with my design sense and exactly what I was looking for in my tablescape; it’s like Joanna Gaines was reading my mind!
I already had a wooden centerpiece that I knew I wanted to keep but add some greenery around it. The moment I saw the eucalyptus garland, it all clicked and was a must-have. The garland would also be beautiful on a fireplace mantel.
I also loved that the tableware was neutral and matched the placemats I actually picked up last year when the Hearth & Hand collection launched. The rustic vibes of the imperfectly round plates makes my love for design explode - I love it! I decided to layer the plates for added depth to the table, while adding in the antler napkins for a touch of softness. I also like that the antler design ties in with the pillow on my couch.
I was a bit indecisive when it came to the appetizer plates so I picked up both the holiday word plates and the forest trees. I think they compliment each other very well and can easily be mixed and matched. They are great to have out for appetizers during your holiday party, too. I liked that the word plates were holiday-focused and the forest tree plates had more of a winter vibe, and could be used throughout the winter season instead of just at the holidays.
The serving platters come as a set of 2 and I love the little details on each of them, making them unique yet coordinating. They are great for cookies and sweet treats, or even side dishes or fresh bread as an appetizer. These are very versatile and can definitely be used all year round.
I fell in love with the glassware the moment I saw it. It’s such a simplistic glass but I love the detail of the “X” around the top portion. It gives the glass a little something special and a homey, cozy feel. I added in a few new favorite coffee mugs and wine glasses…because wine not?!
One of my favorite little touches were the sleigh bells - they are actually ornaments! It’s a festive addition to the tablescape and also a great little gift + takeaway for your guests. This one even says “2018” on it so it could be a fun tradition to start at your holiday soirees.
